When you love a piece of design, why limit yourself to one? Grouped lighting is a great way to pack a punch and adds new dimensions to a room, making full use of often ignored vertical space. Staggered height or lines of lights change the feel and look of a room, they can create an intimate feeling round a dinner table, make high ceilings feel intimate or separate different areas in a space.
Foscarini – a Catalog favourite are great at designing collections of lights that work well both on their own or with their little light family.
And it’s not just the Italians who nail lighting – those cheeky chorizo munchers in Spain are lighting wizards too. Marset’s Pleat Box has to be one of my favourite all time lights and look how beautiful they are together. Mmmmm patina, patina, patina. And you may well recognise Discoco – Spain’s answer to the Poulsen’s Artichoke.
So remember people, sometimes more is, well, MORE!
